Meet the Builders

Hi! I'm Cees Stolk, a Red Seal Journeyman Cabinetmaker who started in my trade at the age of 14 in Holland. I have over 40 years of experience in providing excellent workmanship and innovative custom work. My focus is on top tier, quality craftsmanship. To this end, I only select materials for optimal durability and beauty of each Gnome Home.

I love the outdoors, I love meeting new people and the occasional social beverage. My personal goal is to create a business to enhance people's camping experience. A product of this goal is we build awesome Gnome Home trailers that I really hope you enjoy.

The pleasure of sitting around the campfire with friends and family is special to me. A Gnome Home trailer enables the joys of a low impact, simple camping experience with the pleasure and convenience of our trailer.

The Teardrop Trailer design, initially developed in the 1930's, is regaining in popularity.  It's designed to allow for ease of use. Its lightweight and easy to pull for most vehicles, easy to park while out camping or at home. Great for a quick weekend adventure or a cost-effective lifetime tour across the country.

#1 Employee

Melanie Schoenberger was our first, and has been our #1 employee for the past five years.  She joined us with an excellent background in the wood working industry.  In addition to being a great person and employee, Mel has a life long passion for the arts.

She is a self taught artist who’s themes include wildlife, portraits, designs. Her mediums include painting, drawing with focus on woodburning (furniture, panels, skate/longboard decks, just to list a few).

She has had the pleasure of showing her work at various local cafes, yoga studios, and Art Galleries in Edmonton. She was featured at the Art World Expo for the last 2 years in 2018/19, and has recently shown in the 2019 Edmonton Artwalk. Currently her work is being shown at Monikas Art Boutique in Vancouver, BC.

Melanie is always inspired to work on new projects to challenge herself and follow her path as a Artist. For more on Mels artwork check out MelsBigArt and the link below.
